Question: What is the ruling on complaining about hardships?
Answer: Complaining to Allah in dua is permissible (like Prophet Yaqub عليه السلام said: “I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah” – Yusuf:86). But complaining to people in a way that shows objection to Allah’s decree is discouraged.
